Conch, Daith, Rook and Hidden Helix: What to Wear Where
Helix is the most-searched cartilage piercing, but it is not the only one, and the jewellery that suits each spot is different:
- Conch — the bowl of cartilage in the middle of the ear. A huggie or small hoop sits in it perfectly; if you do not want the piercing, an ear cuff gives you the same look with no needle and no aftercare.
- Daith — the fold above the ear canal. This one wants a small, light hoop or a CZ huggie, 8mm and up, with a fully smooth surface for healing.
- Rook — the ridge above the daith. A 2–3mm flat back stud is the safest choice; a hoop only once it is fully healed.
- Hidden helix — a pierce hidden under the fold of the ear. It calls for the tiniest flat back in the range, 2mm, so it stays out of sight until you tilt your head.
